An Appeal

Riley Jane Lawrence was a bright and lively four year old, brimming with kindness and enthusiasm, destined to make an impact on our world. Please consider joining with us in honoring Riley’s memory by making a donation to the newly established Riley Lawrence Fund for Children’s Books at the Louisville Free Public Library.

Riley is the daughter of Sarah Markham Lawrence and David Lawrence.  You may read about her here:

Here are Sarah’s instructions regarding donations:
You can donate from the Library Foundation page – there is a button at the bottom that says DONATE:
Make sure to put “Riley Lawrence Fund” in the special instructions box at the bottom of the donation form.

If you are so compelled, we have also created a scholarship at Western Kentucky University’s Center for Gifted Studies.  This scholarship will allow a deserving student to attend VAMPY.  My friend and fellow VAMPY Alumna, Sarah Markham Lawrence, and her husband, David Lawrence tragically lost their four year old daughter, Riley, in 2008.

Please consider assisting us in honoring the life and memory of Riley Jane Lawrence by contributing to the scholarship fund established for VAMPY in Riley’s memory. In the wake of this great sadness, facilitating the endowment of this scholarship offers a very meaningful and continuing way to honor Riley. Our family plans a recurring gift to the scholarship fund, as does the Lawrence family.

If you would like to help us meet our goal, please consider sending a check or a note with credit card information to the Center for Gifted Studies at WKU.
